Arnold Website Adds Videos of City Council Meetings
The actions of the Arnold city council are now more viewable than ever, thanks to the Internet. A local website has taken the meetings worldwide and online.

ArnoldTalk.com, a local information website for Arnold residents has now added video playbacks of city council meetings from as far back as two years ago.  In addition, other local meetings of interest are currently being added - including the fire board, water board and the planning and zoning meetings.

Recently the Arnold City Council shot down a motion to start televising their meetings.  This action led to a concerted effort by several people to videotape and publish the public meetings online. Most of the videos are shot by local Arnold residents who are happy to volunteer their time and their cameras.

“Everyone should be aware of what’s going on in their town, and the council isn’t going out of their way to let the residents know,” says Arnold resident Doris Borgelt.  “Sometimes people can’t make it to the meetings, but they’d still like to know what is going on.  That’s where we step in,” Borgelt says.

Some residents are physically incapable of making it to the meetings.  That’s where website owner Will Hanke hopes he can make a difference.

“There are people who need to know various agendas and items of interest, and now it’s a step closer to them – and on their time schedule,” says Hanke.

ArnoldTalk.com has been promoting small businesses and involvement since 2004 and boasts over a half million local hits every month. Joining the website is free.
