kristin writes:

End of Bayshore neighborhood needs sandbaggers. There is a row of houses by the ballfield in serious danger of flooding. If you can lend a hand for your fellow Arnold neighbors please do. The ballfield is already flooded. Please come out and pitch a hand.

Here is a map if you are unfamiliar with the area

New Business Directory Launched
Written by Will
Friday, 14 March 2008

I've just completed a huge database scrubbing and import from the Arnold Business Listings that I purchased late last year.

The database now has the most up-to-date listings of all companies registered to do business in Arnold as of Nov, 2007.

Once you get to the Arnold Business Directory , you'll notice that most businesses are not yet categorized.  You'll have to give me some time to sort all 700 or so of them out, but at least we've got them all online.

After I get everything sorted, businesses will be able to add a ton more information about their business, including links to their website, detailed descriptions of what they offer, and more.

If anyone is interested in assisting me with the categorization, just email me.

More Problems with JCAC

From Sue Rhoades:

According to one independent rescue volunteer, she went in to Arnold Animal Control to see (God forbid, not photograph) the animals. She was told that Jeff was at a meeting at City Hall and Gary was off that day.

Since nobody can go back into the now high-security-protected-from-all-liability-due-to-a-rash-of-photography-loving-public-security vault a/k/a the KENNELS without proper supervision by a member of the MALE species, this citizen was turned away.

So I ask again of Mary Holden -- you say we are "welcome any time, welcome any time!" to come to see the animals? How many false statements can this woman make in 3 months' time? Apparently a LOT.

What do you think? Sound off in the forum .

Moving On
Written by Will

I think it's no secret that Arnold Talk has had a great impact on the Arnold community.  While some of the more prominent members of our town seem to despise it, others have used it as a tool to reach out and help the residents of our great town.

It's also no secret that the website has generated plenty of "publicity" in the city council, and that many of the staff members would love to see it disappear for various reasons.

Arnold Talk currently averages a half million hits a month (stats below).  The site has a huge potential to reach thousands more every month.

So why am I saying all this?  Well, just like the title says, I'm moving on.  My wife and I are preparing to purchase a house, and it's time to "return to anonymity" if that makes sense.   I've talked with several people who seem interested, but thus far there has been no movement.  We are purchasing our house within 4-8 weeks, so I'm a "motivated seller".  So here's your chance to turn my four year project into something that really brings our community and people together.
