Looks like the streetlight that's installed down by city hall is just a prototype for many more to come. Mr. Amato (aka Mr. Technology) is apparently heading off to Jefferson City soon to seek state financing (in form of a grant) to put these lights all over our town. As mentioned in the forums a week or two back, many properties in the area have electric coming from the rear of the house, thus causing a problem for street lights. Looks like Mr. Amato has single-handedly figured out the answer. I believe street lights can be a good deterrent from criminal activity, and are good for any subdivision. Anything to make our town a bit 'greener' is good, as long as the costs involved don't overtake the savings. Read the full story here |
