Bill Brengle, assistant principal at Fox High School, gave a "hip" presentation during the 14th Annual Character Education Conference this month.
The national conference in downtown St. Louis, sponsored by the Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis Inc., featured Brengle as one of several speakers.
Through his presentation, Brengle demonstrated how a team of teachers, staff and students from Fox High School confront bullying with staff awareness, self-examination and unity on the subject, advertising, student surveys and student leadership.The group calls itself HIP, focusing on honor, integrity and pride to contrast humiliation, intimidation and the imbalance of power that characterizes bullying.
