FENTON, Mo. -- Two 12-year-old Jefferson County boys are recovering after being attacked by a dog that got out of a fenced yard. The incident happened Wednesday morning in Fenton. The sheriff's department said the first boy was walking to a school bus stop when the mixed-breed dog attacked. A parent struck the dog with a rock to make it stop. Later, another 12-year-old also walking to a bus stop was attacked. An apartment complex maintenance man pulled the dog from the victim. Both boys were hospitalized with what officials call non-life threatening injuries. The dog's owner agreed to allow the animal to be euthanized. She was unaware the dog had gotten out of the yard. Prosecutors have not decided whether to file charges. |

IMPERIAL, Mo. (AP) — Jefferson County police are warning drivers about a man posing as a police officer. The fake officer pulled over a 21-year-old female driver early Tuesday in Imperial. The woman told KMOV-TV that she thought the man was driving a real police car because the vehicle had a blue flashing light on the dashboard. The man allegedly told the motorist she was speeding but that he would let her off with a warning. He never showed any identification. Police are searching for a white man with brown hair who is believed to be driving a spray-painted black car. |
