With the price of gas constantly reaching new record highs, public transportation is becoming more popular.

With that in mind, Jefferson County officials hope to have a public transportation system up and running by July 2009.

The plan, called the Transportation Service Connection (TSC), is being organized through the Jefferson County Community Partnership (JCCP). The goal is to provide reliable, safe, courteous, efficient and sustainable public transportation to the citizens of Jefferson County.Dennis Murphy, JCCP community coordinator, said the service will extend beyond the reach of disabled residents.
