Informational pickets were located outside of the Dollar Tree located on Jeffco Sunday 10/25/2009.  They said they would also be picketing at the newest Arnold location in the Arnold Commons.  According to picketers from the Carpenters District Council of Greater St. Louis, Dollar Tree has contracted work to OUT-OF-STATE non-union companies to perform carpentry work.  On their flyer:

We have struggled for years to raise the standards of workmanship through our Apprenticeship and Journeyman Training Programs and to insure that our members receive fair Wages and Fringe Benefits for work performed.

We also believe that owners who contract with employers who pay sub-standard wages and fringe benefits, are attempting to reduce the earning power of the working people and are contributing to a situration which ultimately hurts all of us.
