So since the failed to notify her, they should have paid for a cab to get her and her child to the doctor, IMO.

A cab is a nice thought however even if I had thought of it.
The doctor's office is only 10 minutes away
and I walked out the door 15-20 minutes prior to our appointment time. So timing would have been off still...

Concerning the picture above "The muddy water coming off the hillside --"
I'm surprised there was no silt fence staked there to catch the silt and to help provide some form of protection from the storm water runoff since someone had already spent the effort to install an orange personell barrier. Unfortunately though, it demonstrated no runoff protection whatsoever to the property owners below.

I can't believe the city is okay with allowing the contractors to perpetuate that kind of mess.

Oh they are more than ok - It's been how long since I have posted anything on this topic and I can tell you that absolutly nothing has changed or happened to make matters any better! It's like the city is totally okay with it. Kinda like the whole gander mountain deal it's no big deal ... sigh!
