Incumbents Won't Answer Questions Print E-mail
Written by Will

The launch of the new Arnold Election site has seen a nice welcome to the community.  The traffic is steady, and people are finding out more about the candidates they may be voting on.

Brinnon Morrison and Matt Hay (both newcomers) have already filed their interview questions .  They are eager to help the community, they are already active and pressing towards their goal.  Both of these gentlemen read the forums here at AT, and are willing to answer any questions their voters may have.

The same, however, can't be said for the incumbents...

Mrs. Deckman has been provided with the same questions as Mr. Morrison, yet has never replied with answers.  Mr. Brazeal has been offered the questions as well, but no answer.  (For the record, Mr. Poor was provided with the questions just this week, and I believe he is actively answering them.  We should hear from him hopefully by next week.)

So why don't/won't the incumbents answer the AT survey?  Do they not believe that AT affects the community?  They read the site (trust me, they do) but act as if it doesn't exist.  Do they have the community's best in their heart?  Perhaps they do, but we may never know.

Perhaps they think being an incumbent automatically buys them votes.  Maybe they think the people at the polls will just vote for whoever is already there.  I doubt it.  More people in this community are involved than they may think.  And people aren't happy with the way Arnold is headed.

Next time you see one of the incumbents, ask them why they won't answer the questionnaire.  Heck, it's a good opportunity for them to promote their past and current 'doings'.  So why aren't they?

Will,
In fairness, have you made them aware of this request from Arnold Talk? If so, by what method were they informed?
I am sure that by now they have received requests for interview surveys from the Post-Dispatch and the leader. The Jefferson County Journal conducts telephone interviews.

Email not working

To follow up on what Bill stated, Joyce's email link on the council website does not work so she may need a hard copy.

I have contacted these people at the emails listed on the official Arnold website. I am unaware of Joyce's email not working or being valid. Perhaps they need to fix that.

I'm not being unfair to anyone. Everyone was contacted in the same fashion. I will send a hardcopy to all candidates who have not answered.

If the incumbents have been notified and email is not working for one, I would hope it would be fixed soon. I would like to know what the incumbents have planned for the next two years.
