Dierbergs Opening in May Print E-mail
Written by Will

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, but the sign out along the highway that announces the "days until opening" changed dramatically this week.  On Monday. the sign, which counts down the days until the new Dierbergs grand opening, had a number around the 120 mark.  On Tuesday however, the sign magically changed to 88 days.

So which is true?  I called the Dierbergs corporate office and talked to a lady there in HR.  She said she was aware that the sign had changed, but said that it shouldn't have done so.  But then she added "we're still opening in May".

So now I'm confused.  120 days from now puts the opening in the first or so week of June.  88 days from now would put it around the beginning of May, as she said.

I work for the sign company that services the countdown sign and there was a glitch in the system that made it revert back to so many days. The current number of days is correct. I can't remember the actual date that we were told the Dierbergs was going to open put it was either the 7th or 8th of May.

I wouldn't put much stock in the sign until it gets within a few weeks. Too many Sub Contractors, Inspections and Suppliers that they have to rely on to stay on their target dates. But yes your right that’s quite a difference in the dates. I guess someone can't count! smilies/grin.gif
