In regards to the plea for AB negative blood donors: Many thanks for the out-pouring of potential donors. There were many Type 0 donors who responded, but this need was restricted to AB negative donors. Fortunately there have been 14 people who signed up and for now that is all that is needed. If the need arises again, there will be notification. Thanks! |

A Missouri statewide program promoting "green" appliances will allow consumers to purchase Energy Star-certified appliances without paying sales tax from April 19 to 25.
The Missouri Show Me Green Sales Tax Holiday exempts state and city sales tax on retail sales of qualifying appliances, up to $1,500 per appliance. The exemption applies to residential and commercial customers and includes washers, water heaters, dishwashers, air conditioners, furnaces, refrigerators and freezers. Read the full story |

President Barack Obama will visit Missouri next week to mark his 100th day in office.
The president, according to a well-placed source, will stop in Jefferson County on April 29th to recognize the benchmark.
Though Obama stopped in Missouri many times as a candidate, this will be his first visit here as president.
It’s unclear where in Jefferson County the president will hold his event. A good guess might be one of the large high schools, such as Fox High in Arnold, where Joe Biden held a rally in December.
